About this ebook

Down in Whynot, NC, there are three things that hold true: 1) life moves just a little bit slower, 2) family means everything, and 3) you don’t mess with history.

When his family decides to sell a home that’s been part of their history for over a century, Lowe Mancinkus is madder than a hornet. To add insult to injury, the woman who purchased it is some fancy pants, city girl looking to fix it up and sell it off. Doesn’t matter that she’s sexy as hell or that just being near her gets his blood racing like never before. That home belongs to his family, or at least it did until she came to town.

Well that just won’t do, now will it?

From the moment that she laid eyes on the historical home in rural North Carolina, Melinda Rothschild knew Mainer House was something special. The perfect escape from life in New York City, Melinda signed the papers and set to work restoring the house to its natural beauty. That is until an angry Lowe showed up on her doorstep one day. With a scowl on his handsome, chiseled face. And a shotgun in his strong, muscular arms.

Is it getting hot in here?

Melinda’s about to get a lesson on life in the south, but Lowe is about to learn a lesson of his own – this city girl doesn’t back down from a fight.

I am just loving these fun, sweet stories from Juliette Poe (Sawyer Bennett). This fun and lively Mancinkus family just keeps on providing such great entertainment! We met Lowe Mancinkus in Trixie's story. Lowe is not happy the family's Mainer House has been sold to some "Yankee" who buys and flips homes and he wants to make life as hard as possible for this woman. Lowe has already boarded up the doors and windows and then sat on her porch with a gun, but now he has painted all the trim work in neon pink! This last act has landed him in front of Judge Winston Edward Bowe again because "the woman", Melinda Rothschild has pressed charges. After Lowe is ordered to fix what he has done, to the agreement of Melinda "Mely", all hell breaks loose. Mely isn't happy to have to deal with Lowe and by the time they leave the courtroom, Lowe has to spend 250 hours doing work on Mely's house! Oh, it is obvious from day 1 that these two are made for each other. They both have that fighting streak in them. I just adored the things these two did to piss each other off. Of course, this ended up such great chemistry! As Lowe and Mely spend more time together, they start to realize that they both jumped to wrong conclusions about the other and they both start developing feelings for each other. I really enjoyed how this story was told through town gossip. It made for some funny scenes. And I just LOVED Morri! He was too funny for words. The pranks that Lowe and Morri played on each other were priceless. Slowly over time, Lowe and Mely started to fall hard. Lowe was such a sweet, southern gentleman and you couldn't help but fall for him. I just adored the way Mely felt about Lowe's family....it was something she really seemed to long for in her life. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with what happened with those two and how they go to their happy ending. Never even saw that coming! Overall, this was a wonderful story, with such great characters.

Well, just like book 1, this is another honest to goodness happy, feel good book that left me all warm and fuzzy. Enemies to lovers, we follow Lowe Mancinkus who has been ordered by Judge Bowe to fix up his beloved Mainer House after he made a few unwanted changes to it following its sale to rich New Yorker Melinda Rothschild. Written in dual POV with a few chapters from additional character’s POV, the story was funny, romantic and the writing was just perfect. All the characters from Whynot are very small town and highly amusing, and Mely has to learn to adjust to all the small town gossip, as does her best friend Morri when he comes to visit (Morri by the way is hilarious). Lowe is a perfect gentleman, super sexy and with just the right amount of alpha. Mely is his perfect partner in every way. Fantastic characters, laugh out loud moments and a superb slow burn romance. I can't wait for book 3. A was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

**Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review** Welcome back to Whynot, NC! All of our favorites are back in this second book, but never fear, if you didn't read the first book, you can certainly read this one as a standalone and you won't be lost at all! Lowe Mancinkus is fit to be tied that a home that has been part of his family for years now belongs to someone else. Because of that, he might have painted a few parts of the house loud, bright colors, which landed him in front of Whynot's judge with his sister defending him. When he can't keep his mouth shut in the courtroom, the judge decides that the best punishment is to have to deal with the new owner of the house and help her with the repairs she needs done on his own time. Melinda (Mely) Rothschild was born and raised in New York City and she knows nothing but that life. When she finds herself in Whynot ready to work on the Mainer House that she's recently purchased, she's in for a whole new way of life. Things in the South are much different than they are above the Mason-Dixon line and when she's forced to work with the man who used her house as his personal canvas, she is not ready for him or for what he makes her feel. As Lowe and Mely begin to work together, they form a truce of sorts as they figure out the other really isn't as bad as they initially thought. They spend more time together and slowly they are finding reasons to be around one another instead of running the opposite direction. The question is can a relationship grow while they are dealing with gossiping town folk and Mely's best friend who comes to town? This was a fantastic story with a slowly built romance that you knew was going to erupt into a five alarm inferno when they finally gave in. There is so much to love about the supporting cast of characters in this tiny North Carolina town and Juliette Poe infuses the story with so much wit and sass you can't help but love it! I enjoyed this trip back to Whynot and I'm looking forward to the next one!
